支付宝AI版已公测 上线或将早于微信

This article reveals the latest AI transformation progress of China's two top consumer super apps, Alipay and WeChat, helping general readers clearly understand the ongoing AI overhauls of both products and get ahead of upcoming product changes.

1. An AI-powered version of Alipay has launched in a limited public beta. Some early testers describe it as an epic overhaul that completely revolutionizes Alipay's original user interface. If launched successfully, Alipay will become the world's first AI super app serving 1 billion+ users. Industry sources indicate its launch could come earlier than WeChat's AI overhaul, while Ant Group has declined to comment on the report.

2. WeChat's AI transformation is currently in an internal testing phase, and the platform has officially opened AI ecosystem access to developers. After applying and passing review, developers' tools can be called by WeChat's AI system. Additionally, Tencent is testing a built-in AI agent prototype that can automatically leverage millions of mini-programs within WeChat's ecosystem to complete various tasks. Ordinary users cannot access WeChat's AI features yet.

This article shares the latest AI developments of China's two largest consumer traffic platforms, helping brands get ahead of emerging marketing and traffic trends, prepare in advance to adapt to the new ecosystem, and seize first-mover advantages.

1. Alipay is completing an epic AI-powered overhaul that will turn it into an AI super app with 1 billion+ users. Changes to its interaction logic will restructure how brands reach consumers and open up new marketing scenarios. Brands can monitor upcoming opening updates and prepare early to adapt their marketing funnels to the new AI ecosystem.

2. WeChat has opened its AI ecosystem to developers for internal testing, and its built-in AI agent can actively call millions of mini-programs. In the future, brands' mini-programs will gain a new traffic channel via AI-driven active distribution, which will reshape the current customer acquisition logic for brands. Brands can prepare required qualification materials in advance, access the WeChat AI ecosystem as soon as it opens, and capture the new traffic dividend.

This article outlines the latest AI progress of the two major ecosystems operated by Alibaba and Tencent, helping sellers identify new growth opportunities, understand related risks, and make well-informed layout plans.

1. On the opportunity side: After Alipay's AI overhaul restructures its interaction logic, new merchant traffic allocation rules will emerge. WeChat's open AI ecosystem and the AI agent's ability to call mini-programs will bring new customer acquisition opportunities for sellers that have already built mini-program presences. Sellers can monitor official platform announcements for opening timelines and prepare for access in advance.

2. On the risk side: Both platforms' AI features are still in limited internal testing or beta, with no confirmed official launch date. Sellers should avoid allocating large amounts of resources too early. It is recommended to stay engaged and increase investment gradually as the ecosystem opens up, to prevent unnecessary waste of resources from premature over-investment.

The AI transformation progress of China's two leading internet platforms revealed in this article offers valuable insights for factories advancing digital transformation and tapping new business opportunities.

1. Key takeaway for transformation: The fact that China's two top internet platforms are both fully committed to AI transformation indicates that AI has become the core growth direction for the mobile internet and retail industry. Factories advancing digital and e-commerce transformation should integrate AI capabilities across the full production, design, and sales chain to keep pace with broader industry trends.

2. New business opportunities: After the two platforms roll out their AI ecosystems, there will be new demand for products adapted to AI interactive scenarios. Factories can develop new product categories optimized for AI presentation and experience in advance, to capture new growth when connecting to the platforms' new ecosystems. The AI rollout will also provide factories with more efficient, low-cost customer acquisition tools.

The AI progress of Alipay and WeChat revealed in this article clarifies the AI development trend of China's mobile internet industry, helping service providers align with customer demand and prepare their business lines in advance.

1. Industry trend outlook: The fact that China's two billion-user super apps are both advancing AI transformation — with Alipay launching limited beta and WeChat opening developer testing — shows AI development has moved beyond the conceptual phase to落地 testing. AI ecosystem-related services will become the mainstream demand in the B2B market going forward.

2. Recommended business direction: A large number of brands, sellers and developers will soon demand development and operation services to adapt to the two AI ecosystems. Service providers can prepare in advance by building capabilities in Alipay AI ecosystem integration, WeChat AI access development, AI ecosystem operation outsourcing and other related services, refining targeted solutions to capture new market share.

The AI layout paths of leading platforms Alipay and WeChat revealed in this article provide valuable references for other platform operators, helping them clarify direction and mitigate development risks.

1. Layout path reference: Alipay chose to directly overhaul its C-end product and roll out AI transformation gradually via limited beta, building a 1-billion-user AI super app. WeChat chose to first open its AI ecosystem to developers for testing, then roll out C-end functions gradually. These two paths offer references for platforms of different sizes: small and medium-sized platforms can follow WeChat's approach to reduce transformation risk.

2. Strategic takeaway: Both C-end users and B-end developers currently have strong demand for AI capabilities, so platforms must accelerate their AI layout to meet market demand. At the same time, AI落地 is still in an early stage, so large-scale one-time investment is not advisable. Instead, platforms can adopt a model of small-scale testing followed by gradual expansion, and can attract merchants to build out an open AI ecosystem to unlock new growth drivers.

The AI transformation progress of China's two billion-user super apps revealed in this article marks an important new development in the AI transformation of China's mobile internet industry, providing new materials and direction for relevant research.

1. New industry development: China's mobile internet has officially entered the落地 testing phase of AI transformation. The simultaneous AI overhauls of two leading platforms with 1 billion+ users show that AI industrial落地 is progressing faster than market expectations. If Alipay launches successfully, it will become the world's first AI super app serving 1 billion+ users and pioneer a brand-new AI super app business model.

2. New research directions: The two platforms adopted completely different AI transformation approaches: Alipay overhauls its C-end product directly, while WeChat opens its ecosystem first before rolling out C-end functions. Comparative research on the落地 outcomes of the two paths and their differences in applicable scenarios will be valuable new topics for in-depth study, and research conclusions can provide references for AI transformation of other internet products.
